Poco, owned by Chinese company Xiaomi, has introduced its new smartphone Poco F7 5G in India. The device comes with latest features including Artificial Intelligence (AI) image correction and claims to have the largest battery in the segment. Let’s check what it’s offering to users.
Performance and Hardware
Poco F7 5G is equipped with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, built on a 4nm process. It offers memory options of 12GB or 24GB LPDDR5X RAM and uses UFS 4.1 storage. The phone also includes a 3D IceLoop System with AI temperature control to manage heat, alongside WildBoost 4.0 gaming optimisation for enhanced performance during gaming sessions.
Design and Durability
The phone comes with a metal middle frame designed to support up to 60kg of weight. It has a dual-glass construction with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, which provides two times better drop and scratch resistance compared to earlier versions. The device also carries IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, meaning it can handle submersion in water up to 2 metres for 30 minutes under specific lab conditions.
Display
The device includes a 6.83-inch 1.5K pOLED display and supports wet touch and glove touch functionality, allowing use in damp conditions. The phone also supports the latest WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6 connectivity standards.
Camera
The rear camera setup consists of a 50MP Sony IMX 882 sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and 20MP front camera for selfies. Additional AI image enhancement features include AI Magic Eraser Pro, AI Image Expansion, and AI Sky Replacement for photo editing.
Battery and Charging
The phone houses a 7550mAh battery, with claims of providing up to 2 weeks of standby time, 60 hours or 2.5 days of nonstop calls, 30 hours of continuous Instagram scrolling, and 24 hours of YouTube streaming on a full charge. It supports 22.5W reverse charging technology.
Software and Updates
It runs on Xiaomi HyperOS and is based on Android, with a 4 years of Android updates and 6 years of security patch updates support.
Additional Features
The device offers AI-powered tools such as chat with AI, interaction with Gemini, Circle to Search, AI Notes, AI Interpreter, and AI Recorder. It is available in three colour variants: Frost White, Cyber Silver, and Phantom Black.
