Japan promises $ 68 billion in India

According to a report by Japanese media platform Nikkei Asia, Japan is planning to invest 10 trillion yen (about $ 68 billion) to strengthen business partnerships with India in the coming ten years. This investment will mainly focus on artificial intelligence, semiconductors, environment and health sector.

Profit of Japanese companies in India

  • In his address, Modi said that so far Japanese companies have invested more than $ 40 billion in India.
  • 80 percent of the companies want to expand their business in India.

During this visit, Prime Minister Modi will also visit Tokyo’s Electron Factory and Tohoku Shinkansen Plant (Sendai), where bullet train coaches are manufactured. Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba will also accompany him. There will be a discussion between the two leaders on taking forward the India-Japan bullet train project.

Cooperation in the Global South and Africa

Modi said India and Japan together can play an important role in the development of the Global South, especially Africa. He reiterated – “Come to India, produce and deliver to the world.”
