Just days before the much-awaited iPhone 17 launch, Apple has put many of its old products in the list of “vintage” and “obsolete”. The company is going to launch the iPhone 17 series in the global market on September 9. Meanwhile, Apple has updated the support status of older iPhones and MacBook models.
iPhone 8 Plus now in ‘vintage’ category

MacBook models become ‘obsolete’
- Apple has included not only iPhones but also several MacBook models in the “obsolete” list.
- The 11-inch MacBook Air (2015) is now obsolete.
- 13-inch MacBook Pro (with 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports, 2017)
- 15-inch MacBook Pro (2017)
- Obsolete means: When a device becomes more than 7 years old and Apple completely stops selling it.
Now Apple will not provide any repair facility for these MacBooks, although in some cases battery replacement service may be available for up to 10 years.
Which models will be discontinued after iPhone 17 launch?

- iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will be discontinued.
- Apart from this, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus may also be discontinued as they are now 2 years old.
- However, the Apple Store will not officially sell them but their stock can be cleared on third-party platforms like Flipkart and Amazon.
