Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL), a power utility supplying electricity to populace of around 9 million in North Delhi, and Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (BSPHCL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to start a long-term collaboration to train newly appointed and existing engineers for the next five years in various areas of business and organizational development, including training and research.
An MoU was signed recently by Praveen Agrawal, Chief – Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Facility Management & Health Services, Tata Power-DDL, and Ram Anugrah Narayan Singh, GM-HR & Admin, BSPHCL, in the presence of senior officials from both the organisations.
Under this 5-year collaboration, both organisations will exchange intellectual resources and infrastructure to roll out a series of initiatives. These will include programs for senior and middle-level executives in areas such as managerial and leadership development, strategic management, innovation, creativity, and corporate social responsibility. The training programme will cover areas such as power distribution management, the latest technology, safety standards and consumer services.
The partnership will also focus on competency development of senior executives through the Transformational Leadership Program and the Advanced Management Program under Management Development Programs (MDPs). Customized capacity-building initiatives with national and international exposure will be introduced to strengthen BSPHCL’s competitive strategy.
Speaking on the partnership, Agrawal said, “We are pleased to form an alliance with BSPHCL to train future-ready managers for power distribution sector. This partnership is a step towards shaping the future of India’s power sector. By developing managerial and leadership skills among engineers, we aim to prepare a new generation of professionals who can drive innovation, efficiency, and sustainable growth in the rapidly evolving energy landscape.”
The MoU leverages expertise and resources of both the organisations to fulfill the objectives of agreement.

Tata Power-DDL and BSPHCL will also conduct joint research activities in the areas of mutual interest. Case studies will be another area of focus, wherein both will jointly identify various areas for case studies, and work towards documenting the same. This partnership underscores Tata Power-DDL’s and BSPHCL’s shared commitment to building managerial and technical capacity, fostering innovation, and advancing research through high-impact collaborative learning programs.
