New Delhi: Hyundai on Monday released official sketches of its new sub-compact sedan car Aura. This gave the car its first glimpse. The sketch reveals that its styling is inspired by the company’s new hatchback car, the Grand i10 Neos. The company has said that Hyundai Aura’s design is sporty, futuristic and progressive. Hyundai will unveil the new car on December 19.
Hyundai, a South Korean company, says Aura’s design is a combination of four fundamental elements, including proposition, architecture, styling and technology. This new car is very much like the Grand i10 Neos from the front. Like the Neos, it also has a cascading front grille, integrated boomerang shape DRL, triangular fog lamp, projector headlamp and muscular bonnet. New diamond cut alloy wheels will be available in Aura.
On the rear, it is quite different from the Grand i10 Neos. The Aura features floating LED taillights with floating C-pillars and signature lights, which give the car a premium touch. Its roofline is largely coupe-car, making the rear look of the car quite luxurious.
Interior
Information on the interior of the Aura has not yet been revealed. The cabin is expected to be similar to the Grand i10 Neos, with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, semi-digital instrument console, 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel, auto climate control, rear AC vents and Features like wireless charger will be available.
Engine
Hyundai Aura will come in three engine options, including two petrol and one diesel engine. All three include 1.2-liter petrol, 1.2-liter diesel and 1.0-liter turbo petrol engines. All three engines will be compliant with BS6 emission norms.
Gearbox
Hyundai Aura will have options for a 5-speed manual and AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) gearbox with a 1.2-liter petrol and diesel engine. Only a 5-speed manual gearbox will be available with the 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine.
Competitors
Hyundai Aura is expected to be launched in January. The new car will compete with the upcoming sub-compact sedan of Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze, Tata Tigor and Renault.
