Design, look and build quality

The Enco X2 flagship earbuds from Oppo come in a very premium packing. As soon as we open the box, we find the charging-storage case, earbuds, ear tips, Type-C cable and user manual in it. The Oppo Enco X2 is the successor to the Enco X earbuds that came last year. The second generation wireless earbuds Enco X2 comes with several upgrades. The design of the charging case is very similar to last year’s model. Both the charging case and the earbuds look premium. The design of the charging case is pebble shaped and its corners are rounded. Both the earbuds and the charging case are made of plastic and have a glossy finish. Both the earbuds and the case look premium.

In terms of looks, the Oppo Enco X2 earbuds are very similar to the Apple Airpods. These new earbuds from Oppo come in in-ear design with anti-germ coated ear tips, which are made of rubber. The stem of the Enco X2 earbuds has a pressure-sensitive area, which you can use to control media playback. The stem length of the Enco X2 earbuds is almost the same as the previous model. While wearing the earbuds, you do not make any mistake, so that L and R letters have been given in the earbuds. Oppo has also provided several eartips of different sizes with the Enco X2 earbuds, from which you can easily see which eartip fits you. We also tried the eartips and the medium sized eartips fit us perfectly.

Talking about the charging case, the branding of Oppo has been given on the top of the case. At the same time, the Dynaudio logo has been given in the back of the charging case. The USB Type-C port is provided at the bottom of the charging case. Also, there is a battery charging indicator here as well. A second LED light is below the case lid. One earbud weighs 4.7 grams. The combined weight of both the case and the earbuds is 56.4 grams. Oppo Enco X2 earbuds come with IP54 rating. That is, these earbuds are dust and water resistant. That is, you do not need to worry that these earbuds do not get damaged in dust or rain. We have done morning walk for 3-4 days wearing these earbuds. We found it very comfortable. Also, we never felt the fear that the earbuds might fall out.

Earbuds connectivity and features

The Oppo Enco X2 earbuds offer great connectivity. We tried connecting both the iPhone and Android to the earbuds, each time the connectivity was perfect. The Enco X2 earbuds use Bluetooth 5.2 for connectivity. As far as the wireless connection is concerned, the earbuds offer a range of 10 meters. We did not face any problem regarding connectivity in this range. We did not find any connection drops during testing. From wireless charging to Hi-Res audio, many tremendous features have been provided in the earbuds.

Apart from this, the Enco X2 earbuds come with many value-added features like three-level active noise cancellation, transparency mode with voice boost function and dual connection. If you want to enjoy these value added features then you can enable them through HeyMelody App. This app is available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Through the app, you can customize the earbuds’ press control according to your convenience. Features like personalized noise cancellation and golden sound enhance your overall listening experience. Personalized noise cancellation feature offers you personalized noise cancellation effects. We did not find any problem with the touch controls of the earbuds. We found the touch controls to be perfect. You would have to squeeze the stem. For this work you have to use another finger along with the thumb, we liked its performance very much. In addition, there are also onboard volume controls, for which you have to slide your finger up or down on the stem. You don’t get onboard volume controls in many premium earbuds.

Sound quality and ANC performance

The Oppo Enco X2 earbuds have dual coaxial speakers with 11mm dynamic drivers. Our sound experience has been excellent in these earbuds. These next generation earbuds from Oppo strike a perfect balance between low, mid and high keys, taking your music listening experience to the next step. Oppo has teamed up with Dynaudio to create customized sound profiles. These 4 EQ settings are Dynaudio Real, Dynaudio Simple and Clear, Dynaudio Punchy and Enco X Classic. You can select them according to your different needs.

The Oppo Enco X2 earbuds offer effective noise cancellation (ANC). After enabling ANC, these earbuds block the noise around you. In Active Noise Cancellation, you get 4 modes: Mild, Moderate, Max and Smart. We used ANC in Max mode most of the time. In this mode the earbuds were able to block ambient noise almost completely. We did the ANC test in Max mode during working hours in the office, their performance was commendable. However, the mild and moderate modes were not of much use in this case.

Earbuds Battery Life

Oppo’s Enco X2 earbuds have a 57 mAh battery, while the charging case houses a 566 mAh battery. The charging case also supports wireless charging. With Max ANC setting, these OPPO earbuds last for about 5 hours. Oppo claims that these earbuds last up to 9.5 hours without ANC. According to Oppo, with the charging case, you get around 22 hours of listening with ANC turned on and 40 hours when ANC is turned off. The charging case charges the earbuds up to 5 times. The Enco X2 earbuds support 10W charging speed via USB-C. It takes around 1 hour for the earbuds to charge. At the same time, the charging case gets charged from 0 to 100 percent in about 90 minutes.

Conclusion

The Oppo Enco X2 earbuds offer strong audio quality and excellent active noise cancellation. These earbuds from Oppo have come with many value-added features. The battery life of the earbuds is also great. If you are looking for premium earbuds with a sleek look, then Oppo Enco X2 can be a good option for you.
