Bengaluru: In the new year, Paytm users are finding it expensive to load money from credit cards to eWallet. Paytm users will have to pay a 2 percent fee if they put more than Rs 10,000 in their eWallet with a credit card. The company has given this information to the new policy. However, the wallet top-up will be free from the debit card and unified payments interface.
People with knowledge of the matter say that the company has taken this decision to save costs on such transactions. This is not the first time Paytm has considered such a move. A year ago, it considered imposing such a fee but did not implement it. It will be important to see how the users react to this change, as many users load the amount from the credit card in their Paytm wallet for many other payments right for taxi fares.
