This feature will be based on two-step verification, which the instant messaging platform already offers. With this feature, users can receive alerts within WhatsApp when a user logs into an account from another smartphone. Recently, it was reported that WhatsApp is working on adding the ability to see past group members on iOS.

WhatsApp’s new feature tracker WABetaInfo said in a report that the Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp is rolling out beta version 220.127.116.11. The feature tracker has spotted a new feature called Login Approval, which is currently in the development phase, and may be released as part of a future update.

As per the report, the login approval feature will send an in-app alert to users when another user tries to login to their account from another smartphone. A user will reportedly be able to login only after getting approval from the handset from where the account is already logged in. It is being said that this feature reduces the risk of the user’s account and information being stolen.

The login approval feature can also reportedly protect users if they have inadvertently shared their six-digit security code. According to the purported screenshot shared by the WhatsApp feature tracker, the alert also displays the time when login was attempted and phone details.
