The central government has approved the establishment of the 8th Pay Commission for government employees and pensioners, potentially benefiting millions of people. The government, led by Narendra Modi, implemented the 7th Pay Commission in January 2016, with its recommendations set to expire on 31 December 2025. Previously, the tenures of the 4th, 5th, and 6th Pay Commissions were each 10 years.
