Blinkit, a food aggregator owned by Zomato, is currently facing a strike by hundreds of its delivery partners in protest against changes to the company’s payout structure. This strike has resulted in disrupted services of Blinkit in many parts of Delhi-NCR, where it is known for its quick delivery of groceries, dairy, fruits, and vegetables within 10 minutes.
The controversy stems from the fact that Blinkit’s delivery partners claim that their earnings will be significantly reduced due to the changes in the payout structure.

According to one delivery partner who spoke to The Indian Express, their earnings per order have decreased from around Rs 50 a year ago to Rs 25 last year, and now to Rs 12-15 under the new payout structure. This has resulted in the strike by the delivery partners, who are demanding a resolution to this issue.
A delivery partner who has been associated with Blinkit for the past year expressed concern over the impact of the new company decision on their earnings. According to the delivery partner, their monthly earnings, which were around Rs 30,000, will now be reduced to Rs 15,000 due to the changes in the payout structure.
It’s worth mentioning that becoming a delivery partner with Blinkit requires having a two-wheeler and an Android phone with an internet connection.
In response to the controversy, Blinkit issued a statement explaining that they have implemented a new payout structure that takes into account the effort put in by the delivery partners to place orders.
The company believes that this new structure is fair to both the delivery partners and the customers.
Blinkit also acknowledged that there have been issues with the service in some areas, and they are actively working to resolve them and restore normal operations for their customers.
