Budget 2020 gift: Petrol, diesel go cheaper

Petrol and diesel prices fell for the fourth consecutive day on Sunday and in the national capital Delhi, petrol fell to a low of 12 weeks and diesel for more than seven weeks. According to Indian Oil Corporation, the country’s largest oil marketing company, petrol in Delhi was cheaper by nine paise on Sunday at 73.10 rupees per liter, which is the lowest level after 10 November 2019.

Here the price of diesel was also reduced by eight paise to Rs 66.14 per liter. This is the lowest level since December 18 last year. In Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai, petrol became cheaper by eight paise and sold for Rs 75.77, Rs 78.75 and Rs 75.95 per liter respectively. Diesel cost five paise in Kolkata, eight paise in Mumbai and seven paise in Chennai.
A liter of diesel today sold for Rs 68.54 in Kolkata, Rs 69.36 in Mumbai and Rs 69.89 in Chennai.

The price of petrol and diesel changes at 6 in the morning every day. The new gasoline and diesel rates are applicable from 6 in the morning. In the price of gasoline and diesel, excise taxes, the dealer’s commission and other things add almost double its price.
