Veteran Industrialist Ratan Tata, who is named to be included in the PM-CARES trustees, has made our life simpler at every point of time. From the basic needs to luxuries, he has produced or helped in producing every such thing. Ratan Tata has invested in many mobile applications which are now the part of our daily life. Here we are going to tell you which are those apps:
1. Ola Electric
One of Ratan Tata’s biggest investment was in in Ola Electric Mobility Pvt Ltd (Ola Electric) in the year 2019. However, the deal happened on an undisclosed amount. Now, we can see Ola scooters running on road and almost everyone wants to own an electric vehicle like this.
Today, almost everyone or at least one person in a family uses Paytm but only a few know that Ratan Tata had invested in this Chinese digital payments platform in 2015.
If we talk about e-commerce than Snapdeal is the first such firm in which Ratan Tata had invested. As per the report, he had invested around Rs 5 crore to acquire 0.17 per cent stake in the company in August 2014.
One of the largest auto search platform in the country, CarDekho, is another firm in which Ratan Tata has an investment. The company helps users to buy and sell used cars online. Not only this, Ratan Tata had also invested in the parent company of CarDekho, BikeDekho, PriceDekho i.e. Girnar Soft.
Health and fitness start-up Cure.fit had also raised $170 million from various investors including Ratan Tata.
Bengaluru-based online furniture retailer UrbanLadder also received funding from Ratan Tata in November 2015. This was his second investment in any e-commerce firm after Snapdeal.
Women wears brand Zivame was also funded by Ratan Tata in September 2015. However, it was a secret deal and the amount was not disclosed.
8. Urban Company
Urban Company that provides various small services at door-step had also secured funding from Ratan Tata in December 2015.
Former Tata group chairman has also invested in Silicon Valley-based cryptocurrency start-up Abra along with American Express. The start-up allows people to store digital cash and send money on any smartphone using Abra’s app.
Now, no one can believe that crores of Indians watch this world from the eyes given by Ratan Tata. Yes, he also has an investment in the popular online specs retailer Lenskart. The deal took place in April 2016.
