Billionaire businessman and head of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani did not take any salary from his company for the second consecutive year. Ambani had decided not to take salary from the company due to the corona virus epidemic affecting business and economy.

Reliance Industries said in its latest annual report that Mukesh Ambani’s salary for the financial year 2020-21 was ‘zero’. That is, the company has not paid him any salary for working as MD and chairman. Mukesh Ambani in June 2020 voluntarily decided to forego his salary for 2020-21. He took this decision due to the corona virus epidemic. Let us tell you, Ambani did not take his salary even in 2021-22.

He did not avail of any allowances, perquisites, retirement benefits, commissions or stock options from Reliance for his role as Chairman and MD in both these years. Earlier, setting a personal example, he had capped the salary of the Chairman and Managing Director to Rs 15 crore from 2008-09.

The salary of his cousins ​​Nikhil and Hetal Meswani was Rs 24 crore during this period. But this time it involved a commission of Rs 17.28 crore. There was a slight decline in the salaries of Executive Directors PMS Prasad and Pawan Kumar Kapil.

Nita Ambani got paid so much

Mukesh Ambani’s wife Nita Ambani, who is a non-executive director on the company’s board, has been paid Rs 5 lakh as sitting fee and Rs 2 crore as compensation this year. Last year, he was paid Rs 8 lakh as sitting fee and Rs 1.65 crore as compensation.
