Relief: Proposed three-day nationwide bank strike postponed from March 11

New Delhi: The proposed three-day nationwide strike of various bank employees’ organizations from March 11 has been postponed. All India Bank Employees Association, an organization of bank employees, gave this information in a statement here. The organization said that the decision to postpone the strike has been taken due to positive progress in the meeting held with the Indian Banks’ Organization (IBA) in Mumbai on Saturday. The strike was called by the United Forum of Bank Unions, a group of banking sector employees’ organizations.

The All India Bank Employees Association said in a statement that various employee organizations met in Mumbai with the IBA. In this meeting, issues like opening a bank only five days a week and 15 percent increase in salary were discussed.

The IBA has agreed to discuss the issues raised by various organizations.

The bank employees’ organizations have already held a two-day strike on January 31 and February 1 for the increment.
