Renault’s five lakhs cars rocked, XL6 and Innova could not stand ahead of it

New Delhi: Renault, one of the country’s renowned car makers, launched its most affordable MPV Renault Triber this year. The car has become popular in the Indian market since its launch. Cheap cars are very much liked in the Indian market and this car is the cheapest MPV to come in seven-seater, due to which it has established its dominance in the market in a short time. In November 2019, the Triber sold 6071 units, which shows how much it is being liked.

Maruti Ertiga on top

Talking about the sale of MPV cars in November, so far Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has been at the top in terms of sales of MPV and the Tribar managed to gain second place in it. The special thing is that Tribar is a new product in the market while Ertiga has been present in the market for a long time. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga sales grew 18 percent this year compared to last year.

Reno Tribar at number two

On the other hand, sales of Reno Tribe are increasing steadily and the MPV segment has grown by 15% month-on-month. The Reno Tribar was launched in August 2019 and sold 2490 units that month. The following month it increased to 4710 units in September and to 4,240 units in October. In the Indian market, Renault already sells its own and seven-seater MPV Logi, which is more than the Tribe in price. In the market, it competes with SUVs like Toyota Innova Crysta and Mahindra Marazzo. In November 2019, only six units of Reno Logi were sold.

Starting price of traiber

The Renault Traiber Sub-4 meter MPV is priced at Rs. 4.95 lakhs. Talking about the engine and power, this MPV has a 1.0-liter petrol engine, which gives power of 71 hp and torque of 96 Nm. Reno has also given this engine in its small entry level car Kwid. Talking about the transmission, it has a 5-speed manual transmission.

Competes with datsun go plus

In the Indian market, Reno Tribar competes with Datsun Go Plus, but in the sale, it is beating Traiber. In November, Go Plus sold only 115 units, which was 67 percent less than the units sold in the same period last year.
