Bhadohi gangrape and murder: In a brutal incident just around 50 km away from the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a minor 13-year-old school going girl was allegedly gangraped and later killed by some middle-aged people from her village in Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place on August 21.

According to the family, they even received life threat for filling the complaint. But when nothing worked and the police allegedly came under the influence of the accused, they had to move Delhi’s Jantar Mantar and switching-off their mobile phone during the journey to avoid the trace.

“The girl was alone at the home when this happened. The girl was living with her grandparents who went to bring ‘kanwar’ on that day,” elder brother of the victim’s father told National Chronicle.

There are three other girls in the village and boy who is from the accused’s family. Those three girls and boy celebrated birthday of one of them on the day of incident. Later, they asked the victim that why didn’t she join them. And the boy came to her house and pretended like he is fainting away. Then the victim rushed to his house to inform his family, he told.

Later, in the night the accused allegedly abducted the girl from her house and gangraped and later slit her wrist causing her death. Moreover, the accused hanged the girl from a tree with the help of her dupatta, the family alleged.

According to the victim’s aunt, the police worked well initially for two-three days. But when they allegedly received bribe, they stopped working. Instead, they started threatening the victim’s family.

The family also alleged that there is no mention of Section 376 (rape/gangrape) and the protection of children from sexual offences (POCSO) Act in the FIR.

The family protested at Jantar Mantar on Monday and demanded stricter action including death sentence for the accused.
