Hyderabad encounter: Chidambaram and Asaduddin Owaisi demand investigation on encounter

The Congress has demanded an inquiry into the gang rape of a female vet in Hyderabad and the police encounter of the accused who burnt her to death. Congress leader P Chidambaram, who arrived in Jharkhand, said that as a responsible person he wants to say that whatever happened in Hyderabad should be investigated.

At the same time, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi also said on this matter that every encounter should be investigated as per the order of the Supreme Court.

Chidambaram told reporters in Ranchi, ‘I was on a flight from Delhi to Ranchi and something happened in Hyderabad during that time.

I don’t know much about it as much as you guys know. However I say that whatever happened in Hyderabad should be investigated. It should come to the fore whether the accused were really trying to escape and was it something else?

Chidambaram has arrived in Ranchi in view of the ongoing assembly elections in Jharkhand. He also said, “We have weakened the BJP in Haryana, stopped it from coming to power in Maharashtra and appealed to the people to defeat the BJP in Jharkhand.”

CPM leader Sitaram Yechury said that non-judicial killings cannot be a response to our concern about women. He said that revenge can never be justice. Along with this, Yechury raised the question as to why the stringent law that came into force after the Nirbhaya gang rape case in Delhi in 2012 has not been implemented.
