International Hindu Mahasabha chief shot dead

New Delhi: International Hindu Mahasabha president Ranjit Bachchan was shot dead on Sunday morning in Hazratganj area of the capital Lucknow. Ranjit Bachchan left for the morning walk.
Meanwhile, the bike riders shot him in the head, killing him on the spot. The police, who reached the spot at present, have taken the body and sent it for postmortem.

Ranjit Bachchan lived in the OCR building of Hazratganj. Ranjit Bachchan was originally from Gorakhpur. He also used to do cultural programs of Samajwadi Party.

The incident is reported to be around 6:30 in the morning. Ranjit Bachchan went on a morning walk with a friend Ashish Srivastava.
As he was leaving Globe Park, the biker miscreants shot him in the head. His friend Ashish has also been injured in this incident, who is undergoing treatment at the trauma center. The cause of the murder has not been ascertained. Police is engaged in investigation.
