New Delhi, Unnao Case: Delhi Tis Hazari court on Monday convicted MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the case of gang rape by kidnapping a girl in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh in the year 2017. At that time, the court had said that on 4 June 2017, Kuldeep Sengar, along with his colleague Shashi Singh, conspired and committed a sexual relationship with a 16-17 year old teenager without consent in the name of getting a job.

The matter came to the headlines when the victim and her mother tried to commit self-immolation outside the residence of Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath. A case under the Arms Act was registered against the victim’s father on 3 April 2018 and he died due to excessive beating in police custody.
On 28 July, while returning to meet uncle, the car of the victim, his aunt, aunt, and lawyer was hit by a truck in Rae Bareli. Aunt and aunt were killed in this, while the victim and her lawyer were injured. The injured were admitted to AIIMS by bringing the Supreme Court from Lucknow to Delhi, where they underwent treatment for several days. Currently, the victim is staying in Delhi with her family, as the family refused to return to Unnao.
