Dhanuka Agritech Limited, a leading company in the agriculture sector, will soon start a nationwide campaign for water conservation. Giving information about this, Chairman of Dhanuka Group RG Aggarwal said that the company is very serious about water harvesting work and many meaningful initiatives are also being taken in this direction. He announced that this campaign will be run continuously for one year and for this, farmers’ seminars and other programs will be organized at various places. He expressed concern over the problems of water crisis across the country and said that now we need to increase awareness in this direction.
Aggarwal said that about 80% of the water in our country is used only for agriculture. If the consumption of water in the agriculture sector is reduced, then perhaps the water crisis can be reduced. It may be noted that after the World Water Day on March 22, in this countrywide campaign, people will be made aware of water conservation, especially through various programs, efforts will be made to tell farmers how water can be saved in agricultural work. exists and can be stored.
He stressed on the use of drones in agriculture and told how we can save water by using it. Explaining the use of less water in spraying chemicals or pesticides in the fields, he said that Dhanuka Company will create awareness for the use of technology across the country. Also, the company will set up ‘Weather Information Centers’ to forecast weather in different parts of the country so that farmers can easily get information about weather-related water usage.
Further, Aggarwal said that for this Dhanuka has taken several initiatives in the past as well. The company had launched a special campaign in the past years in this context – in which film actor superstar Amitabh Bachchan was tied up. In fact the superstar has explained the importance of water conservation by him in a sixty second documentary – ‘Insaan Pani Bana To Nahi Sakta Hai, Par Bacha Zaroor Sakta Hai’. In this, informative pamphlets, posters and banners depicting the need to save water have been displayed at several prominent places. He informed that the company has constructed five check dams i.e. Roka Dam at Jugalpura, Devipura (District Sikar), Mainpur Ki Dhani, Sankotra and Kothputli (District Jaipur), Rajasthan. About 10,000 families with a population of more than 50,000 are getting benefit from these dams today.
It may be noted that in view of the acute water crisis, since 2005, Dhanuka Agritech Limited launched a large-scale campaign to spread awareness about water conservation and its judicious use, namely, “Village Water in the village and farm water in the field”. Dhanuka Company is extremely happy that the vision of the organization regarding water conservation for irrigation has been beautifully underlined with the agenda of the Government of India. Government of India recognizes the importance of water conservation, micro-irrigation, watershed development and increased water efficiency through ‘Per Drop More Crop’ initiative of ‘Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana’.
