Kisan Mahapanchayat

Kisan Mahapanchayat: On Monday, on the call of United Kisan Morcha, there will be a mahapanchayat of farmers at Jantar Mantar. It is expected to attract a large number of farmers. Farmers have been reaching Delhi since Saturday to take part in the Mahapanchayat. The police did not give permission for the demonstration. Security has been increased by barricading the border. Local policemen have also been deployed along with paramilitary forces for investigation so that farmers cannot enter Delhi.

Farmers’ dharna will start at Jantar Mantar from 10 am. This can also affect the traffic of Delhi, so the traffic police has issued an advisory. Now the question arises that why the farmers are doing mahapanchayat and what are their demands. In fact, during the agitation regarding the new agricultural law, five points were agreed upon with the central government, out of which the government has not fulfilled a single point. For this reason, Annadata is preparing to hit the road.

What are the demands of farmers

There are many demands of the farmers who held the Mahapanchayat. In which the demand for justice to the farmer families of the Lakhimpur Kheri massacre, the release of the farmers in jail and the arrest of Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni, the main culprit of the massacre. Apart from this, according to the C2 + 50% formula of the Swaminathan Commission, the law of MSP (Minimum Support Price) guarantee, debt-free all farmers, cancellation of electricity bill 2022, support price of sugarcane should be increased, payment of cane arrears should be done immediately. The Mahapanchayat has been called for the withdrawal of all the cases registered during the farmers’ agitation and withdrawal of the government Agneepath scheme and other demands.

Rakesh Tikait arrested

The National Spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, Rakesh Tikait, who was going to attend the Kisan Mahapanchayat, was taken into custody by the Delhi Police on Sunday. However, he was released after two hours. Angered by the arrest of Tikait, the BKYU workers held a demonstration at the Bahjoi police station. The farmers also tried to give arrest. When Rakesh Tikait was released, the farmers ended the agitation by giving a memorandum.

Borders sealed

More number of farmers are expected to reach from Tikri Border, Singhu Border, Ghazipur and Chilla Border. In such a situation, more vigil has been increased in these places. From Sunday evening itself, the investigation was started by barricading these places. Apart from this, the police is also keeping an eye on other roads connecting Uttar Pradesh and Haryana and is searching for suspicious vehicles.
