Who is Hiren Joshi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s media advisor Hiren Joshi use to threaten the Editors of various news channel.
While speaking at the national conclave of the Aam Aadmi Party’s elected representatives in Delhi, the Chief Minister said that Joshi sends abusive and threatening messages to the journalists asking them to not to show Kejriwal on the their channels.

Who is Hiren Joshi?
Joshi is the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in Prime Minister’s Office. He is also known as the eyes and ears of Modi. After completing his early education form Banswara in Rajasthan Joshi did Electronics Engineering from Pune. Thereafter, he completed his PhD from the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (IIITM), Gwalior. His first job was as an assistant professor at Manikya Lal Verma Textile and Engineering College, Bhilwara.
How did Joshi meet PM Modi?
When Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, the state government had organised a program for the engineers where many techies gathered. Suddenly, the organisers started facing some technical issue and as the Chief Minister himself was present there, everyone was under high pressure.
That time, Joshi came in front and rectified the issue within a few minutes. This was the moment when Modi first noticed a talented engineer, he was very impressed with Joshi. Later in 2008, Joshi was appointed for managing social media accounts of Modi.
Joshi shifted to Delhi after Modi became PM
In 2014, when the Bharatiya Janata Party registered a historic victory and Modi became Prime Minister, Joshi made his entry to the PMO and became an OSD. His rank in the PMO is equivalent to a Joint Secretary. In the current Indian politics, Joshi is known as the eyes and ears of PM Modi. Joshi monitors all activities of Modi’s website, blog and social media accounts including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram etc.

The OSD is responsible for Modi’s digital presence in among the public. Every tweet, post, video or any other activity on the social media accounts of the Prime Minister can’t take place before Joshi has given a green signal to it
