First Swami Dayanand Saraswati T-20 Inter College Cricket Tournament from Wednesday in Delhi

To mark the 200th birth anniversary of Swami Dayanand Saraswati, the Department of Physical Education of Delhi University’s PGDAV College is organising its first T-20 Inter College Cricket Tournament from March 15 to 28 at the college premises.

According to a statement from the Department, the first match of the day-night tournament will be played between DCAC and CVS on Wednesday from 4.30 pm onwards. A total of 15 matches will be played between four groups of 12 teams from various colleges of the varsity. Out of the 15 matches, including 12 league matches, two semifinals and final, eight will be day-night matches.

The tournament will be inaugurated by PGDAV’s Principal Pro. Krishna Sharma.

The teams are divided into four groups — Group A consists of DCAC, ARSD and Maharaja Agrasen College. RLA, Shyamlal and Stephen’s Colleges have been placed in Group B. Group C has Hindu College, Zakir Hussain College along with Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. While Group D has Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College, CVS along with home team PGDAV College.

College has appointed Dr. Sushma Chowdhary, co-convenor and Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education, Dr. Pawan Kumar and Dr. Mukesh Kumar as secretary of the organising committee.

The college, under the leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Krishna Sharma, is making massive progress in the field of academic activities as well as in sports. The students have got an opportunity to show their talent at the national and international level due to the development over the years in the facilities related to various sports available in the college campus. As a result of this, now positive results are also being received.
