Breaking news: Arvind Kejriwal tests Covid-19 positive

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday announced that he has tested positive for Covid-19, adding that he has “mild symptoms” and was isolating at home. Taking to Twitter, he said: “I have tested positive for Covid. Mild symptoms. Have isolated myself at home. Those who came in touch wid me in last few days, kindly isolate urself and get urself tested.”

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener had campaigned in Uttarakhand on Monday after having visited Punjab and other poll-bound states like Goa. mplete lockdown in level 4 (red).

Vaccination drive to protect children in the age group of 15 to 18 years from the coronavirus began on Monday in many parts of the country including Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Kerala. Long queues were also witnessed outside the vaccination centres.

The states where the vaccination drive is going on include UP, Gujarat, Assam, Delhi, West Bengal, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala etc.

About 10 lakh children registered

Registration for vaccination started on January 1. According to the CoWin website, so far around one million children between the ages of 15 and 18 have registered for the vaccination. On Monday, about one lakh children have also taken a dose of the vaccine. Apart from registering on the CoWin portal, children can register directly by visiting the vaccination centre and they will also be vaccinated immediately.

UP Chief Minister Yogi took stock

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took stock of Lucknow’s Civil Hospital on Monday after the vaccination campaign for children started. During this, Yogi said that the number of 15-18 year old children in the state is about 1 crore 40 lakh. Children have been asked to give the vaccine. Yogi said that from today, vaccination has started in 2,150 centres in the state. 39 centres have been set up in Lucknow, where 15-18-year olds are given vaccine doses.

Campaign started in Delhi too

Children’s vaccination campaign has also started in Delhi. Apart from RSKV Hospital in Laxmi Nagar, vaccines are being administered to children at many centres.
