New Delhi: NITI Aayog member (health) V.K. Paul said on Tuesday that it is in our hands to stop the third wave of the corona epidemic. He said that if we follow the guidelines issued to avoid Covid and everyone gets their vaccination done, then the third wave can be prevented from coming. Let us tell you that the vaccination campaign has started in the country from Monday. Yesterday was a historic day for India’s vaccination campaign. Yesterday, more than 86.16 lakh doses of vaccine were given in a single day. To this, Paul said that this one-day figure shows that the vaccination campaign in the country will reach a large scale in the coming days and weeks.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has implemented the new vaccine policy from June 21 and announced to give free doses of vaccine in the country. Under this, the central government will buy the vaccine and provide it to the state governments. Anyone above the age of 18 years can visit any vaccination centre and take the dose.
A statement by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) quoted Paul as saying, “All this has been possible due to planning and coordination between the central and state governments.” Paul said, ‘Whether the third wave comes or not is in our hands. If we follow the covid guidelines and get ourselves vaccinated then why the third wave will come. There are many countries where the second wave has not even come. If we take care of all these things then this time too will pass.
