IFFCO, Tokio creating awareness on crop insurance through ‘Meri Policy, Mere Haath’ and Fasal Bima Pathshala campaign

Being a Leading general insurer, IFFCO-Tokio General Insurance Company Limited, is an authorized implementing insurance company by Government, has aligned with the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare for the ‘Meri Policy, Mere Haath’, awareness and policy distribution programme under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).

The PMFBY, a flagship scheme of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare launched in 2016, protect farmers from crop loss due to unforeseen natural calamities from pre-sowing to post harvest and to provide adequate financial support to farmers in the event of loss of crops.

‘Meri Policy Mere Haath’ (MPMH) is an initiative launched as part of the PMFBY with an objective to enhance crop insurance awareness and accessibility among Indian farmers.

‘Meri Policy, Mere Haath’, a one-and-half month long campaign ending March 15, 2025, coincides with Rabi season.

As part of the campaign, IFFCO-Tokio General Insurance Company Limited (IFFCO Tokio) is organising Meri Policy Mere Hath & Fasal Bima Pathshala workshops across three states and distributing the physical insurance policy documents to farmers.

Under the Meri Policy Mere Hath & Fasal Bima Pathshala campaign, IFFCO-Tokio is encouraging more and more farmers for enrollement under the PMFBY and Restructured Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme (RWBCIS) to protect the crop losses.

The main objective of campaign is to create comprehensive awareness and deliver policies at doorstep of insured farmers.

Besides doorstep delivery of policies, India’s leading insurer in educating farmers about various features and benefits of crop insurance. Farmers are also being informed about the process they should follow while making insurance claims.

The initiative aims to empower farmers by delivering crop insurance documents at their doorsteps, and reinforce trust by solving their queries related to crop insurance.

IFFCO Tokio is organizing workshops in 24 districts in Rabi 2024-25 season — Uttar Pradesh (20), Karnataka (3), Madhya Pradesh (1)

The districts are Ambedkar Nagar, Amethi, Ayodhya, Amroha, Bahraich, Balrampur, Barabanki, Bareilly, Bijnor, Badaun, Gonda, Jhansi, Mahoba, Moradabad, Pilibhit, Rampur, Sambhal, Shahjahanpur, Sravasti, and Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh; Chhikballapur, Kalaburagi, and Udupi in Karnataka; Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh.
