Indigenous automaker Mahindra has unveiled four new concept SUVs — Mahindra Vision X, Vision T, Vision S, and Vision SXT. All models, showcased at the Independence Day event in Mumbai, are based on its new NU.IQ platform which is designed as a flexible, multi-energy architecture capable of supporting multiple powertrain options. The platform advocates a flat-floor design for enhanced interior space and boot capacity. The models will target C-segment vehicles of the company in India as well as globally. The first vehicle based on the company’s new NU.IQ platform is expected to hit the market in 2027.
Mahindra Vision T and Vision SXT
The Vision T and Vision SXT models seem inspired from the Thar.e concept. The Vision T features a boxy body, square LED headlights, and a wide rectangular grille.
Besides, the Vision SXT gives a truck-like cabin that accommodates the spare wheels in the deck, while the design is robust and divisive.
Mahindra Vision S
The Mahindra Vision S concept features a box-like body. The vehicle maintains a contemporary look and the headlights feature multiple vertical light strips and some horizontal LED strips are also present on the grille, which makes the Vision S look more modern and stylish. The L-shaped design of the headlights has potential to attract buyers.
The vehicle is built for off-road performance, featuring roof-mounted lights, a strong bumper, and plastic cladding along the sides with wheel arches.
Flush door handles, streamlined Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs), and a novel design for the alloy wheels are among its attractive features.
Mahindra Vision X
Unlike the boxy appearance of the other three concept SUVs, the Mahindra Vision X stands out with a distinct design. It features slim headlamps and a sleek air intake at the front. The elongated hood and downward-sloping roofline create a coupe-like silhouette. Additionally, the Vision X incorporates flush door handles and a rear bumper with a dual-tone finish.
All four concept SUVs are rooted in Mahindra’s new ‘Heartcore’ design philosophy, emphasising a striking presence combined with practicality. The interiors of these upcoming SUVs are anticipated to showcase Mahindra’s intuitive NU_UX technology interface, supported by advanced next-generation Integrated Domain Architecture.
