New Delhi: With the winning of Delhi Assembly elections, the Aam Admi Party won the hearts of people and it resulted in a spate of AAP followers. Since its hattrick in the Delhi polls, more than 16 lakh people joined the AAP in just 12 days, said Delhi minister Gopal Rai.

According to Rai, 1,72,269 people from Delhi, 1,81,212 people from Uttar Pradesh and more than one lakh people from Gujarat gave missed call to the number that the party had launched to run a joining campaign.

The AAP has launched a campaign to increase its follower base in which anyone can join the Aam Admi Party by giving missed call to 9871010101. Through this number, any person can join the party from across the country.

He said, to connect more and more people, the party will run a campaign in 20 states between February 23 to March 23.

For this, the party has also appointed conveners in all the states, he said.

The AAP received a thumping mandate in the Delhi Assembly election by winning 62 seats out of 70. However, it had managed to win 67 Assembly seats in the 2015 elections but this time ‘team BJP’ surged to eight seats.
