Batmaloo Attack: Terrorists shot dead constable in Srinagar

Jammu: After remaining calm for a few days, once again a police constable has been killed by terrorists in Kashmir. Terrorists shot dead 29-year-old police constable Tauseef in SD Colony of Batmaloo area of Kashmir. Tauseef was seriously injured in the attack on late Saturday evening. He was rushed to Shri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital for treatment but he had died.

Batmaloo attack: Dr. Kanwaljit Singh, Medical Superintendent of the hospital said that Tauseef was shot in the head and when he was rushed to the hospital, he had died. Tauseef was a resident of Lachchmanpora in Batamaloo and was appointed as a constable in the police department in the year 2019. Presently Tausif was working in Police Control Room Srinagar.

This is the fourteenth targeted killing by terrorists in Kashmir in less than a month and a half. Earlier, the terrorists started targeting non-Kashmiris and non-Muslims living in Kashmir. However, the security forces also killed around twenty terrorists in retaliatory action.

Batmaloo attack: Lashkar’s hit squad TRF is suspected to be behind this murder. At the same time, after this incident, the security forces cordoned off the area and started searching for the terrorists. Terrorists operating in Kashmir are currently trying to spread panic by targeting police personnel along with workers from other states. In such a situation, terrorists shot and killed constable Bantu Sharma of the Railway Force and Arshad Mir, a sub-inspector of Jammu and Kashmir Police, in September.
