Delhi violence: Demand for martyr status to head constable Ratanlal, people sitting on the streets in Sikar

The relatives of the police head constable Rattan Lal, who was martyred during the violence in the capital Delhi, demanded the government to give him martyr status. In his native village, people also demonstrated on the road. His family has demanded that Ratanlal be given martyr status. They will not cremate the body until their demands are met. Apart from this, people have also demanded to name a local sports stadium after him. Ratanlal was a resident of Tihawali village in Sikar, Rajasthan.

Ratan Lal joined the police service in 1998 and was posted in Gokulpuri sub-division of northeast Delhi.

Explain that the violence erupted on Sunday in North East Delhi district took a violent form on Monday. Meanwhile, head constable Ratanlal was badly injured in stone pelting and arson. After which he died. Ratanlal was a resident of Tihawali village in Sikar, Rajasthan. He was married to Poonam, a resident of Jaipur, in the year 2004. He is survived by two daughters Siddhi (12) and Kanak (10) and a son Ram (7). As soon as she reached Ratan Lal’s house in Amrit Vihar Colony in Burari village of Delhi, the wife fainted.

Significantly, in the violence in north-east Delhi, 18 people have died in violence among the supporters and opponents of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). In this violence, many houses were burnt and many shops burnt down. At the same time, after the ever increasing violence, the government has ordered the Delhi Police not to spared any sight of spreading violence. Order to shoot even has been issued.
