Flood alert issued in Delhi, thousands people evacuated

Due to incessant rains in Delhi, water logging has increased in the low-lying areas of the Yamuna river, due to which now an ‘alert’ has been declared for the evacuation of the people living there and has given a water level warning because this year the water level has increased. Explain that the water level of Yamuna river has reached 206.18 meters above the danger mark of 205.33 meters, due to which an ‘alert’ was issued for the evacuation of people on Tuesday morning. In fact, a flood warning is given in Delhi when the water release rate from the Hathni Kund barrage in Yamunanagar, Haryana crosses the one lakh cusec mark and in view of this, the low-lying areas and other floods along the river bank. People living in containment zones are evacuated.

But this time due to rain, the low-lying areas on the banks of the river are being evacuated and sent to higher places. Also, arrangements have been made for their stay in government schools and night shelters in adjoining areas and announcements are being made to caution the people in view of the possibility of further rise in the water level.

According to reports, the low-lying areas of the river are considered flood prone and 37,000 people live there. In such a situation, this is the second time within two months that the authorities have evacuated people living in low-lying areas due to flood-like situation.
