New Delhi: Voting for the Delhi Assembly elections will be held on February 8. If you are also a voter of Delhi, you can get free air travel in Spice Jet. Spice Jet will give free tickets to passengers coming to Delhi for voting on February 8. Travelers will only have to pay travel tax and surcharge. But the number of tickets is limited. For this, the passengers will have to register online and the internal committee of the company will decide about it.
Giving information about the Spice Democracy initiative, the airline said on Monday that if a passenger books a ticket to and from Delhi on February 8, the entire base fair will be refunded. At the same time, if a passenger books a flight ticket to Delhi on February 8 and a return ticket on February 9, then the base fair of one-way ticket will be refunded.
The airline said that under this initiative, registration of passengers will be from January 31 to February 5. Information about the passengers selected for the free ticket will be made available on February 6. Selected passengers will have to travel to Delhi on 7 or 8 February. Along with this, after voting, they will also have to upload a selfie by writing the Spice Democracy hashtag on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter account.
Ajay Singh, the chairman and managing director of the airline, said that voting is a democratic right, but people living far from their homes are unable to exercise the franchise. Therefore, Spice Jet wants to help them exercise their franchise, for which free tickets are being given to passengers by Spice Jet. Hopefully this initiative will make democracy stronger.
