Indian Army successfully crushes infiltration attempts by Pakistan: General Manoj Mukund

A record ceasefire violations and infiltration  by Pakistan in 2019 has kept the Indian army wide awake. A total of 3,289 cases were reported, of which 1,565 violations took place post the abrogation of article 370 in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Similarly, a significant rise in the number of infiltration had  raised a high-priority concern, vis-a-vis, the identification of entry routes and to further deter Pakistan from finding new routes.

Earlier this year, Officials had said that, the infiltration and violation have forestalled the development of the state and grafted a sense of fear among the residents, which had led many to migrate to safer places.

Soon after disturbances along the LOC snowballed, the central government sanctioned Rs 415 crore for the construction of over 14,400 underground bunkers along the LOC and the IB and made efforts to speed up the work last year.

Lending weight to the steps taken by the govt to curb cross border terrorism, Army Chief General Manoj Mukund, announced that, the Army has been successful in crushing infiltration attempts administered by Pakistan.

He also added that, terrorist initiated incidents like grenade throwing and improvised explosive device(IED) attacks have seen a perceptible decline in the course of the last six months.

The defense budget has seen a rise of 8%, following which, on Tuesday, 4th February, the general said that, they will do proper examination and utilization of the funds.

Citing a fast track step, the General said’The weapons (Sig Sauer assault rifles and Spike anti-tank missiles) have been received and being deployed and issued to troops deployed in the forward areas.

Following the Generals statements, many turned to twitter to laud him, and projected him as a true patriot and a powerful Chief of the Indian Army.
