Ranchi, 27 November: The graph of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), considered to be an axis of politics in Bihar, has been falling in the neighboring state of Jharkhand. The leaders of Jharkhand are challenged to return the lost land in the absence of RJD President Lalu Prasad in this assembly election. However, the lack of RJD President Lalu Prasad is also hurting the leaders here in this election.
After the creation of separate Jharkhand from Bihar, the RJD was recognized as a strong party, but as time passed, the RJD’s land kept shrinking.
In this assembly election, the RJD has once again entered the electoral arena with full force in alliance with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress.
Prior to the formation of the state of Jharkhand, the RJD was strong in many areas of Jharkhand, but the RJD’s clan had collapsed since the formation of Jharkhand. In the last assembly election, not a single RJD candidate could win the election. The RJD is contesting seven seats with the alliance this time. The party has fielded its candidates from Hussainabad, Chatra, Chhatarpur, Koderma, Barkatha, Deoghar and Godda.
In 1995, Jharkhand (then part of the state of Bihar) had won up to 14 seats, but since the formation of Jharkhand, other parties continued to occupy RJD land. In the last election, the RJD could not win a single seat while in 2009 it was able to save its reputation by occupying five seats.
A RJD leader says that RJD never got support of the leaders. Important RJD leaders left the party. He said that Annapurna Devi, who was the President of RJD before the Lok Sabha elections this year, left the party and joined BJP and became an MP from Koderma. Similarly, Girinath Singh left the party and went elsewhere.
In this election, RJD is sweating with full force to bring back its lost land. RJD state president Abhay Singh says that in this election, the party has fielded candidates on five such seats, which were occupied by the party in the 2009 elections. Singh also believes that Lalu Prasad’s shortage in this election has been unpalatable. There is no star campaigner like him.
RJD has released a list of 40 star campaigners for the time being, in which the family members of Lalu Prasad have also been included.
Singh, the RJD state president, says, “The party has been missing a star campaigner like Lalu Prasad since the last election. The party has not yet found a leader equal to them. In the elections, Lalu Prasad is heard from every section. There was a crowd of people. ”
In Jharkhand, there was a huge crowd in his election meetings to see Lalu’s fire, whether it was assembly elections or Lok Sabha elections.
Lalu Prasad, who has been convicted in several cases of the fodder scam, is in a Ranchi jail. He is currently admitted to RIMS for health reasons. The party’s leader-activists meet him according to the rules of the jail and decide the strategies, but the leaders and activists feel that Lalu Prasad is not in this election.
