Maharashtra: Decision in Supreme Court today, NCP, Congress-Shiv Sena MLA under tight security

The Supreme Court heard the leave on Sunday (Sunday) on a joint petition by the Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP challenging the Governor’s decision to administer oath to the Devendra Fadnavis government in Maharashtra. However, the court did not issue any interim order to the Fadnavis government on the demand of the three parties to prove their majority in the assembly within 24 hours. He said that he will take any decision on this only after Monday’s hearing. A special bench of Justice NV Ramana, Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice Sanjeev Khanna turned down the demand for two days to present the letters of Solicitor General Tushar Mehta. The bench said that there is no dispute that the power test in the Legislative Assembly is the right way to prove majority but we want to see the letters of both.

The bench issued notice to the Government of Maharashtra, Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar on the plea of ​​the three parties seeking the Governor’s decision to invite Fadnavis to form the government. The bench refused to consider the demand for directing the governor to call Mahavikas Aghadi, a coalition of the three parties, for convening the government under Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray.
