Maharashtra: Uddhav government wins majority, gets 169 votes, BJP walkout

Government led by Uddhav Thackeray in Maharashtra has won a majority. A total of 169 votes were cast in favor of the government. During this, the BJP boycotted the house. Update till date – I will commit these crimes again and again: Uddhav Thackeray

Uddhav Thackeray said in the assembly about the controversy over taking oath of CM – Yes, I took oath in the name of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his parents.

169 votes received

During the assembly proceedings, BJP members boycotted the house. After this, the process of majority testing was completed by counting the members. All the members got up on their seats and told the name and number. The Uddhav government was supported by 169 members while zero members voted in the opposition as the BJP walked out of the House. MNS was present in the House but moved away from the opposition and took a neutral stand. During this time MIM also remained neutral.

The BJP members walked out of the assembly during the trust vote in the House. After which the Protem Speaker ordered the assembly doors to be closed. Devendra Fadnavis said that we will submit a letter of irregularity to the Governor.

Ashok Chavan and Nawab Malik propose majority test

Members of Maha Vikas Aghadi approved this proposal. The Protem Speaker said that the majority test would not be held by secret ballot but members would be counted.

Devendra Fadnavis surrounded Uddhav government

Former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis questioned not singing Vande Mataram at the beginning of the proceedings of the House. He asked the Speaker of the Assembly why this session did not begin with Vande Mataram. The House was called against the rules. The Speaker of the Assembly refused to issue the Point of Order. He also questioned the way ministers were sworn in. He said that a majority test cannot be conducted without electing the Speaker. Fadnavis also said that the Protem Speaker was also changed by following the rules. All these objections were rejected by the Protem Speaker.

Nana Patole filed nomination papers
Congress leader Nana Patole has filed nomination papers for the post of Maharashtra Assembly Speaker. He was accompanied by NCP leader and cabinet ministers Chhagan Bhujbal, Praful Patel and Shiv Sena quota minister Eknath Shinde.

NCP will declare deputy CM after Nagpur assembly session

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Praful Patel said that the post of deputy CM is with NCP and we will appoint someone to this post after Nagpur assembly session. The session ends on December 22.

BJP angry over changing pro tem speaker, said it will appeal to Supreme Court

Maharashtra BJP president Chandrakant Patil accused the Uddhav government that instead of Kalidas Kolambkar, Dilip Walse Patil has been appointed to the post of Protem Speaker which is legally wrong. He also did not take the oath as per rules. This government is violating all rules. In this case we are petitioning the Governor. In future, we can appeal to the Supreme Court as well.

He said that MLA Kishan Kathore will be BJP’s candidate for the Speaker. Whereas, Congress state president Bala Saheb Thorat said that Nana Patole would be the Congress candidate for the post of Assembly Speaker.

Ajit Pawar clarified on meeting BJP MP

Ajit Pawar met BJP MP Prataprao Chiklikar on Saturday morning. When Ajit Pawar was asked about the ways of this meeting, he said that it was just a courtesy meeting, even though we are from different parties but we all have relations with each other, any discussion on floor test not done. As Sanjay Raut said, our alliance will prove our strength in the House today.
