Matoshree sealed as COVID-19 infected chaiwala found near house of Uddhav Thackeray

New Delhi: Amid the worsening situation in Maharashtra, the authorities have sealed the Matoshree, the house of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackrey as a chaiwala who is said to be infected from the coronavirus was found near it on Tuesday. The authorities have also sealed two private hospitals after receiving the information that 39 staff of these hospitals got infected.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra has witnessed an increase in the coronavirus positive cases which shot up to 868. In one day 120 new coronavirus infected people have been found in Maharashtra including 52 in Mumbai. The disease has claimed the lives of seven people so far.

“’Matoshree’ has been sealed. We have also sprayed medicines to disinfect the area. Also, the people who have come into contact with that chai seller are being traced. Apart from this, the BMC has sealed Wockhardt and Jaslok Hospital in Mumbai Central. Three doctors and 26 nurses were found infected with coronavirus in Wockhardt Hospital, while 10 staff including six nurses were found positive in Jaslok Hospital.

The first corona victim was admitted on March 27 at Wockhardt. He came positive during the investigation and died. Later Dharavi’s doctor also got the infection. Similarly, infection spread in Jaslok Hospital and health workers were found positive there.
