As indicated by a media report, Maharashtra Government is intending to make singing of National Anthem necessary in all Colleges and Higher Education Institutes working in the state soon.

The request comes not long after the state government made perusing of Preamble to the Constitution obligatory in School’s morning congregations in Maharashtra.

The proposition to make singing of National Anthem compulsory at key events and functions at various educational institutes, was greeted by the Maha Government cabinet minister Uday samant, who said that soon the directive will be given to all the institutes making the singing of the national anthem compulsory.

Uday also added that the govt will soon be sending notifications to all the college and the date set for implementation is 19th February. The chosen is to mark the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Earlier this January , the govt had made the reading of the Preamble to The Constitution for all the students in the state. According to the govt, this step was taken to enhance the knowledge of the students about The Constitution of India.
