Parliament Live: BJP opens front against Rahul, speaker calls all-party meeting

BJP MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur on Friday apologized for the statement calling Nathuram Godse, the killer of Mahatma Gandhi, a patriot in the Lok Sabha. He said that if anyone is hurt by my statement, I apologize. However, he targeted Rahul Gandhi and said that he publicly called me a terrorist, which is illegal. Even after this, the opposition was not satisfied and continued to create ruckus. After which BJP MP Nishikant Dubey demanded a breach of privilege against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for calling Pragya Singh Thakur a terrorist.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has called a meeting of leaders of all parties to discuss this entire matter.

It has always been: Mulayam Singh Yadav

Samajwadi Party patron Mulayam Singh Yadav advised the Speaker of the Lok Sabha to call and speak to the members of the ruling and opposition to resolve the matter. Mulayam said, ‘Our opinion is that the trouble is being expressed by the opposition members. You should close the house for five-ten minutes and call people here and there and talk. It is always going to happen.’ The speaker said that he would consider his good opinion.

Unconditional apology: Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, said, ‘We have only one demand. We want him to apologize only but without any apology. ‘

Government should tell Godse terrorist or not

President of AIMIM and MP from Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi said that the government should tell whether Godse is a terrorist or not. You said that Pragya Thakur’s statement is not on record. This is a major fatal violation that goes against the basic standards of conduct of the member. The member should clearly state that Godse is not a patriot, he is a terrorist and an assassin of Gandhi.

Demand for breach of privilege against Rahul Gandhi

After which BJP MP Nishikant Dubey demanded a breach of privilege against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for calling Pragya Singh Thakur a terrorist. He also said, ‘Congress has formed government in Maharashtra with Shiv Sena. Shiv Sena called Nathuram Godse a patriot in the face. Congress can go to any extent for power and greed. ‘

This issue should not be politicized

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said, ‘Not only this country but the whole world follows the principles of Mahatma Gandhi. We should not politicize this issue. If we do this it will go before the world. Therefore I say that this statement will not go on record. This House does not allow Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin to glorify whether it is in this House or outside. The defense minister gave a statement on behalf of the government yesterday. MP Pragya has also apologized.

Sadhvi apologized for Godse’s statement

Bharatiya Janata Party MP Sadhvi Pragya Thakur from Bhopal has apologized in the Lok Sabha on her statement about Nathuram Godse, the murderer of Mahatma Gandhi. In the Lok Sabha on 29 November, he said that his point has been misrepresented. She also said that she respects Mahatma Gandhi and feels sorry if anyone is hurt by her statement.

Sadhvi targeted Rahul

After this, Pragya said without naming former Congress President Rahul Gandhi that a member of the Lok Sabha has publicly called him a terrorist, which is unfair and illegal. He said that at the time the UPA government was ruling, he was sent to jail, tortured and vigorous efforts were made to prove him a terrorist by conspiring against him. Pragya said that without proving charges he was called a terrorist, which is illegal.

Pragya Thakur met big party leaders

Before going to the Lok Sabha, Sadhvi Pragya Thakur met BJP Working President JP Nadda, General Secretary Bhupendra Yadav and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi. In the meeting held in Parliament House, all the top leaders of the party asked Pragya Thakur to present his stand in the House.

Significantly, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi wrote on his Twitter on Thursday that terrorist Pragya is calling Mahatma Gandhi’s killer terrorist a patriot. It is the darkest day in the history of Indian Parliament.
