The Rajya Sabha meeting was adjourned till 12 noon around 15 minutes after it began on Monday, due to the opposition members’ insistence on raising the issue of the National Population Register (NPR) and the revised Citizenship Act (CAA). When the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha started at 12 o’clock, the opposition members again started a ruckus.
During this time, members of DMK, SP, BSP and NCP were seen standing in their place and supporting the Congress members. Amid the noise, Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur stood up to answer supplementary questions during the Question Hour, Congress members shouted slogans of ‘Anurag Thakur Shem Shem’ and ‘Stop Shoot’. He also raised slogans of ‘Save our democracy’, ‘Save our Constitution’ and ‘Save our India’.

– Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary said that real Hindus do not shoot at people. These are fake Hindus who want to stop people’s voice at gunpoint. The central government wants to suppress the voice of democracy.
