New Delhi: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday sent greetings to Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, who is going to take oath as Chief Minister in Maharashtra. With this, he has regretted not being able to attend the oath taking ceremony. On the other hand, Congress Working President Sonia Gandhi has also expressed her inability to not attend the oath ceremony. Poor health is said to be the reason for his absence.
Rahul Gandhi wrote a letter to Uddhav congratulating him and wrote, “Thank you for inviting me to the swearing in ceremony today.” I wish you all the best of Maharashtra.
I regret that I will not be able to attend the swearing-in. Rahul wrote that, I am happy that Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi has come together to thwart BJP’s attempt to weaken our democracy. I am sorry that I am unable to attend the ceremony.
Rahul Gandhi wrote that, the people of Maharashtra have high hopes from this alliance. I am confident that she will work for the development of stable, secular and poor in the state. The Shiv Sena has tied up with the NCP and Congress to form the new government in Maharashtra and within a few moments will take oath in a grand function at the Shivaji Park ground in Mumbai. Uddhav Thackeray had sent an invitation to join Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi for their oath-taking program.
