Pune: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray received Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Pune airport on Friday evening. This was the first meeting of the two leaders after Thackeray ended his relationship with the BJP last month and formed a Shiv Sena-led government in Maharashtra with the support of Congress and NCP.
The Prime Minister will participate in the National Conference of Director Generals and Inspectors General of Police in Pune. According to state government officials, Thackeray left for Mumbai after receiving the Prime Minister. Union Minister Amit Shah, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis also greeted Modi at the airport.
