Auto Expo 2020: 40 vehicles introduced on the first day, from the cheapest e-KUV 100 to the luxury MG Marvel X

New Delhi: The Auto Expo 2020, the world’s second largest motor vehicle exhibition, started at the India Expo Center and Mart in Greater Noida on Wednesday. More than 15 companies introduced around 40 vehicles on the first day. The emphasis of these companies was on passenger safety, environmentally friendly and better mileage vehicles. While Maruti Suzuki Limited glimpsed its first e-car ‘Futuro E’ on the ‘Mission Graeme Million’ theme, Tata introduced the ‘Sierra Concept’ e-SUV. Companies say that BS-6 standard will make vehicles a bit expensive, but in terms of better mileage and other features, they will be cheaper than before.

Maruti Futuro-E design made in India

At the 15th Auto Expo, Maruti was the first to glimpse its first electric car, the Futureo-E. The initial price of the four-seater concept car is said to be 1.5 million. It has been introduced in gray-metallic color. Its body is quite sleek. Kenichi Ayukawa, Maruti’s MD-CEO, said, the Futureo-E is designed entirely in India. This SUV-coupe shaped car will introduce a new trend in e-vehicle design.

Sierra returned after two decades

Tata Motors introduced the e-SUV of its two decade old brand ‘Sierra’ concept. The new model is named ‘Sierra EV Concept’. It will have three doors. The management said, it is being developed according to the Indian environment and domestic roads. Tata Motors first introduced the Sierra in 1991. However, it has been missing from the streets since 2000. Apart from this, the company also got a glimpse of its flagship SUV Gravitas, Tiago, Tigor, Ultraz, Nexon and Winger. The BS-6 standard Prima truck was also introduced.

Hyundai Tushaw’s BS-6 avatar

Hyundai, India’s second largest car exporter, introduced the new 2020 Tushaw. BS-6 standard friendly This SUV has been introduced in 2.0 liter petrol and diesel engines. The new Tushaw has come at a time when SUVs are selling the best. The company said that this would further strengthen Hyundai’s grip in the SUV segment as it was developed in terms of the most premium and superior SUV experience.

Mahindra’s cheapest e-car

Mahindra & Mahindra has introduced its e-car ‘E-KUV-100’. A car equipped with a 40 kW motor costs just 8.25 lakh rupees. It has been introduced as the cheapest e-car. The company also had a glimpse of the Funster e-concept vehicle at the Auto Expo. Also introduced Atom as Urban Last Mile Mobility.

MG Motor launches MG Marvel X

Chinese company MG Motor introduced its luxury e-car ‘MG Marvell X’. Designed in a state of the art manner, this car has many safety-related features. Apart from this, the company also got a glimpse of the EMG-6 sedan.
