Electric hatchback car Fiat 500 to launch in India, know its features and details
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) (FCA) may launch the electric version of the Fiat 500 (Fiat 500) in the near future. However, this electric vehicle (EV) has recently been introduced for international markets. But this new electric vehicle can help improve Fiat’s brand in India. As already known, FCA is focusing on offering only Jeep brand vehicles in India. However, this depends on how the charging and production infrastructure for electric vehicles locally will develop.
Italian carmaker Fiat had plans to showcase the all-electric Fiat 500e third generation car at the Geneva Motor Show (Geneva Motor Show). It had to be canceled due to the coronavirus epidemic. In view of this, recently the company showcased its new car Fiat 500e in public through online streaming channels and social media.
Battery and Range
The Fiat 500e third generation electric car has a 42 kWh lithium ion battery pack. Which drives its electric motor. This motor generates power of 116 bhp. This car accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 9 seconds. The top speed of the car is 150 km / h. With 85 kW fast charger, this battery pack can be charged up to 80 percent in 35 minutes. At the same time, it takes 14 hours to full charge with standard charger. Interestingly, this car can be run up to 50 kilometers on just 5 minutes of charging. According to the WLTP cycle, this car can travel up to 320 km on full charging.
The design of the Fiat 500e is quite similar to the Fiat 500. But the biggest change in the look of the new car has been made in its grille. It does not have a radiator grille. The Fiat 500e will get many new changes. It gets DRLs with new LED headlights, LED taillights with e-shape motifs and a new 500 badging on either side, making it look quite attractive. Talking about the dimensions of the car, its length is 3630 mm, width 1690 mm and height 1480 mm. Also, this car will get 17-inch alloy wheels.
The Fiat 500e offers Level 2 autonomous features with drive-assist electronics. It includes features such as autonomous braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control. The Fiat 500e will get Fiat’s latest and a 7.0-inch instrument panel with advanced Uconnect 10.25-inch infotainment system.
Booking of this car in the European market is ongoing for 500 Euros (about Rs 41,800). Currently, the company will produce only 500 units of the Fiat 500e car. The company will launch a fully loaded La Prima Cabriolet Edition with many more features for 37,500 euros (Rs 31.35 lakh) after the situation is normal in the world suffering from the corona virus.
A special Fiat 500 EV may be available for our domestic market, but the company has not yet made any official confirmation. If FCA decides to launch the new 500 EV in India, it can only be brought as a CBU, ie it will be a fully-built unit. However, in this way it will not be sold in large numbers. Therefore, by preparing a local model to increase its electric range and keep the price down, it can be successful here.
