Facebook has closed its three offices in London till Monday. The company took this decision after one of its employees tested Kovid-19 positive. Sky News reported on Friday that social media giant Facebook has asked 3,000 employees to work from home after one of its employees found Kovid-19 positive. The employee was from Singapore and visited offices in London from 24 to 26 February.
Facebook has said that the offices will be thoroughly cleaned before opening them.
The company said in a statement, “An employee of our Singapore office has been diagnosed to be Kovid-19 positive.
He visited our London offices from 24 to 26 February 2020. ”
“So we are closing our London offices till Monday for cleaning. During this time the employees are working from home.”
There have been 163 reported cases f coronavirus in Britain.
Facebook has advised all its employees in the US Bay Area to work from home. The move comes after two new cases of coronavirus surfaced in San Francisco on Thursday.
Facebook has also closed its Seattle office until Monday, as one of its contractors has been confirmed to be corona infected.
The infected contractor was last in the Facebook office on 21 February.
King County health officials have said that all Facebook sites should work from home by March 31.
