In Android operating system, users get many options, some of which are useful for all users, while some are important for advanced users. Today we are talking about the Access Point Name (APN) settings found in the smartphone, which is not set, the internet connection is stopped in the device. There may be some problem with some users that the internet does not work in the phone and they can also get upset if they do not understand the reason for it. Actually, APN is very necessary for internet connection in any smartphone and it is only through its use that the internet is connected in the phone.
After the Android device is connected on the network, users can run internet, send SMS or MMS and connect calls.
Typically all Android devices include APN settings through the mobile phone operator, but if your smartphone does not have valid APN settings, first remove and re-insert the SIM card. If your device does not support the telecom operator’s database, then you have to manually make APN settings.
How to set APN on Android phone
- Go to phone settings first
- Select wireless and network options in phone settings
- Go to Mobile Network Options in the Wireless & Network category
- Now go down here and click on access point name or APN option
- Then tap on the three-dot menu icon on the right corner of the screen.
- Now tap on ‘New APN’ option
Usually APN settings are included in the SIM card itself but if you do not find it, then contact your telecom operator. The operator will help in filling all the fields of the SIM card. After this process is complete, you have to go to the save option and thus you will be able to setup APN settings manually.
