If the PAN card is not linked to Aadhaar by March 31, then you will have to pay 10 thousand fine

The Income Tax Department says that the last date for linking Aadhar card to PAN card is 31 March. According to statistics only 30.75 crore PAN cards have been linked to Aadhaar card so far. It may cause harm

When you file your income tax return and if you have given the wrong PAN number, then you can be fined up to ten thousand rupees under Section 272B of the Income Tax Act, 1961.

When you file an ITR or somewhere else, when you give a PAN number, you may face a penalty if you make a mistake.

In spite of having two PAN cards, a penalty of more than Rs 10,000 can be imposed on a person under Section 272B of the Income Tax Act. It is illegal to have two PAN cards.

More than 17 crore did not get the link

The Income Tax Department has said that so far more than 17 crore people have not linked their Aadhaar card to PAN card. In September 2018, the Supreme Court had constitutionally validated the Aadhaar card. It was also said that it is necessary to pay taxes.

How to apply online

First of all, visit the official website of the Income Tax Department (https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in). If you are a first time user, then register yourself first. OTP will come to your mobile number after completing the registration phone. Your verification will be completed after putting the OTP on the phone. After this, you can create a new password. After that, you go to the site and login. Enter your PAN number in the User ID. Then enter captcha code. After login, go to the menu and click in profile settings. After this, click on the link Aadhaar option. After this, enter your Aadhaar card number.

How to apply offline

To apply offline, you have to fill the application form and submit the PAN card, photo of Aadhaar card and fees to the Income Tax Office. You can also get Aadhaar card linked via SMS. For this, you have to message your Aadhaar number and PAN number by writing UIDPAN from your registered number on 567678 or 56161 number. Also, your Aadhaar will be linked to PAN card.
