The Kwid is Renault’s smallest 4-door passenger car in India. Being a popular and budget model, it hopes to become a mass market electric car in the future. The company has already launched an electric version of the Kwid under the name of ‘K-ZE’ in China. Reno also showcased it at the 2020 Auto Expo. Now Reno’s subsidiary Dacia has also introduced it in Europe under the name of ‘Spring Electric Concept’. Dacia is Reno’s budget-brand in Europe. For the information, let us know that the Duster SUV is actually the product of Dacia company which Reno has also launched under its banner.
The Spring Electric concept showcased by Dacia looks to be a premium version of the Reno K-ZE. The front design has been tweaked with LED headlamps. At the same time, its rear design is similar to that of the K-ZE but it has new LED tail lamps. Dasia has not yet showcased the interior of the Spring EV.
Dasia has not shared its technical specifications either. But according to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test (WLTP) cycle, this car is capable of giving a range of 200 km in a single charge.
At the same time, the Reno K-ZE, available in China, has a 26.8-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery which according to the NEDC test cycle can deliver a range of about 271 km and its electric motor outputs 44 PS / 125 Nm. Its top speed is pegged at 105 km / h. Hopefully, the specifications of Dacia Spring will be better than this.
There is a possibility that the design of Reno’s first electric car to be launched in India could be inspired by the Dacia Spring EV concept. This upcoming car of Reno will have a range of at least 200 km. It will be launched in India by 2022.
