Skoda Octavia RS 245 booking to begin from March 1

Skoda India launched the Octavia RS 245 at a price of Rs 36 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) at the Auto Expo 2020. But till now it is not available for sale. But now the company has announced to start its booking from 1 March 2020. Interested customers will be able to book this performance version of Octavia from Skoda’s website for Rs 1 lakh. For information, let us know that this is the Limited Edition of Octavia and only 200 units of it will be available for sale in India.

Talking about the design of the Octavia RS 245, the front has a split design headlamps with signature butterfly grille and LED day-time running lamps. Unlike its international model, it has 18-inch alloy wheels instead of 19-inch. Its ground clearance is 15 mm less than the regular model. Apart from this, C-shape tail lamps, black spoiler and dual exhaust tip have been given in its rear. To give the car a more sporty look, ORVM housing of black color has been given in it.

The Octavia RS 245 has an all-black cabin. Red highlighter has been given in it to bring a premium and sporty feel. “VRS” bezings have been given in many places including the car seat and the flat bottom steering wheel. In this special edition variant, the company has offered features such as 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster, 8.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, power adjustable driver seat, hands-free parking and dual-zone climate control. At the same time, in terms of safety, it has features such as 9 airbags, antilock braking system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), electronic stability control (ESC), brake assist and rear parking sensors and reverse camera.

The Skoda Octavia RS 245 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, which generates a maximum power of 245 PS and a maximum torque of 370 Nm. Along with the engine, it has a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox, which supplies power (front wheel drive) on the front wheels.

Let us tell you that it is expensive by Rs 12.4 lakh from the top variant of regular Octavia (L & K variant – ₹ 23.59 lakh). However it is a much cheaper car than the BMW 3-Series (₹ 41.4 Lakh), Audi A4 (₹ 41.9 Lakh) and Mercedes-Benz C-Class (₹ 40.9 Lakh). Earlier too Skoda launched a performance version of Octavia under the name of Octavia RS. But it was less powerful than this new version.
