Fresh trouble for Elon Musk; X hit with trademark lawsuit

Billionaire Elon Musk has landed into a fresh trouble.

His company, X Corp, has been sued in federal court by a legal marketing company.

The lawsuit claims that Twitter’s new name X actually infringes its trademark incorporating the letter "X".

The lawsuit by X Social Media claims that X Corp was likely to cause consumer confusion.

Musk rebranded the micro-blogging platform to X from Twitter in July.

The Tesla CEO had acquired Twitter in October 2022 in a $44 billion deal.

X Social Media is an ad agency based in Florida that focuses on mass-tort litigation.

X Social Media is using the name since 2016 and owns a federal trademark covering it.

It has also requested an unspecified amount of money damages.
