Fresh trouble for Elon Musk; X hit with trademark lawsuit
Billionaire Elon Musk has landed into a fresh trouble.
His company, X Corp, has been sued in federal court by a legal marketing company.
The lawsuit claims that Twitter’s new name X actually infringes its trademark incorporating the letter "X".
The lawsuit by X Social Media claims that X Corp was likely to cause consumer confusion.
Musk rebranded the micro-blogging platform to X from Twitter in July.
The Tesla CEO had acquired Twitter in October 2022 in a $44 billion deal.
X Social Media is an ad agency based in Florida that focuses on mass-tort litigation.
X Social Media is using the name since 2016 and owns a federal trademark covering it.
It has also requested an unspecified amount of money damages.
